Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. My name is Paul Choquette and I have worked for Gilbane since 1969 when I began my career as general counsel. I currently serve as Chairman of our holding company, Gilbane, Inc.

One of the major reasons for the success of Gilbane is our strong belief in family culture and commitment to remaining a family business. At Gilbane, we understand that people are resources and attempt to maximize their full potential. Training individuals and providing them with opportunities to further educate themselves provides for a healthier and more diverse work group.

It is my belief that learning is a lifelong journey that begins early in our youth. That is why Gilbane and I support the Anchor of Hope Fund. The Anchor of Hope Fund was established in the year 2001 by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence to provide significant, need-based financial assistance to those students attending Rhode Island Catholic schools. Each and every dollar received directly impacts children in our community attending Catholic schools. As a Catholic man and business leader, I believe in the quality and faith-filled education our Catholic schools deliver. Now more than ever, our charitable contributions are critical to ensuring the success and vitality of our schools, our Church, and the future workforce leaders of our state.

A great way to assist the Anchor of Hope Fund is through the new 2009_2010 “Sponsor a Student” campaign. This new Diocesan program allows you or your organization to make a tax deductible contribution to our cause while at the same time sending a child to school for the year. I ask you, therefore, to prayerfully consider contacting Sam Ragosta, Assistant Director of Stewardship and Development for Catholic Education with the Diocese of Providence, to learn more about this initiative. I am proud to say that Gilbane is an Anchor of Hope Fund sponsor and, because of our gift, we have helped alleviate the financial burden to Catholic school children and their families.
