Danielle

Danielle is a bright 5th grader who has been at St. Patrick's School since kindergarten.  During that first year, she developed a serious infection in her lung that spread to other parts of her body. She, her parents, teachers and school community fought for her life through prayer and the best medical treatment available.  Danielle also has a serious bone condition which requires injections every night and IV treatments monthly.  Despite these conditions, Danielle appears very healthy  and remains a very happy child.

Her family is extremely grateful for the money received through the Anchor of Hope Fund.  Danielle's Dad has served three tours of duty in Iraq and faces a possible additional deployment. Danielle is happy to be part of the strong community of St. Patrick's School.  She expresses her deep roots in the St. Patrick's Community,  "I really like being in my school.  I like my teachers and my friends and I am happy that in our school, we are able to pray to God everyday."  Her dream is to work with animals in a zoo.  "I thought of becoming a vet but I would really like to work with a variety of animals and I think I could find that in a zoo."

Danielle is a good investment in a faith-based society.  Without the assistance of the Anchor of Hope Fund, she would not have the advantage of a Catholic Education in the urban setting in which  she lives.  Her educational community, family and friends are all grateful for this help and feel blessed to have this beautiful girl in their lives.

A Message from the Assistant Director for Catholic Education in the Office of Stewardship and Development

Greetings,

As the new Assistant Director of Stewardship and Development for Catholic Education in the Diocese of Providence, I welcome you to the first edition of The Anchor of Hope Newsletter; Stories of Hope.  The Anchor of Hope Fund is of vital importance to all of our Catholic Schools throughout the Diocese of Providence; but in particular to our inner-city schools.  These schools do amazing work with the segment of the population which faces the most socio-economic challenges.   Keeping Catholic educational opportunities alive and vital for all children who desire to attend Catholic schools is the mission of the Anchor of Hope Fund and this shared purpose will evangelize our faith and strengthen our communities. I invite you to support this mission, enjoy the newsletter and continue to support The Anchor of Hope Fund.
